Overview
The club is run by a general committee of volunteers drawn from the membership
There are a number of sub-committees which take responsibility for specific club activities; sailing, training, social etc.
Members may stand for election to any of the committees and also as an Officer of the club
The racing programme is managed by members via a rosta system of volunteers; Officer Of the Day (OOD)
Assistant Officer Of the Day (AOOD).
They are responsible for setting the course, managing start times, monitoring race progress
(Including responding to any incidents on the water) recording results etc.
New members are encouraged to sign up for AOOD / OOD. Full guidance and training is given by more experienced members
The duties are a good opportunity to meet other members, learn more about the rules of racing, course setting and safety on the water.
During race meetings, the kitchen is staffed by volunteers on a similar rosterd basis (Teas & Assistant teas)
to provide light refreshments for the day.
